NEW DELHI: The counselling for Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS 2021 will be conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu NEET 2021 counselling dates are expected soon at tnmedicalselection.org.

Tamil Nadu NEET counselling 2021 will be conducted in an online mode for seats under 85% state quota and 100% private colleges. As per the previous year's data, as many as 8,000 MBBS and 2,873 BDS seats are offered in medical and dental colleges through NEET 2021.

Know the Tamil Nadu NEET domicile criteria 2021

To avail of the state quota reservation under Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission, the candidate must be a bonafide resident of the state.

  • Nativity Certificate needs to be furnished for aspirants who have completed their schooling from 6 to 12 from the state of Tamil Nadu. Permanent Residency Certificate in lieu of Nativity Certificate will not be accepted. However, they would be required to submit parent/s’ Birth Certificate, Ration Card, SSLC/ 10/ 12 Certificate, or No Graduate Certificate, in case parents are not literate.

  • Domicile candidates of Tamil Nadu who have partially or fully completed schooling from 6 to 12 from outside of the state, would be required to submit true copies of the parents’ documents as mentioned (Birth Certificate, Ration Card, SSLC/ 10/ 12 Certificate, or No Graduate Certificate, in case of parents, are not literate).

  • Students will also be required to submit an undertaking stating that they have not applied as natives of any other state, apart from Tamil Nadu.

  • NRI and PIO (Person of Indian Origin) candidates will also be eligible under Management Quota, given they meet the rules and regulations of the Govt. of India/ Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

  • Students from other states who are living in Tamil Nadu, and students from other states who have studied Classes 6 to 12 in Tamil Nadu, will only be considered for admission under the open category, and not the state quota.

During the Tamil Nadu NEET 2021 counselling, applicants will have to fill in their preferences of courses and colleges for admission. Based on the choices filled, NEET-UG rank, seat matrix, reservation, and other factors, DME will grant Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS admission 2021. The counselling of the remaining 15% seats for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2021 admission will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
