NEW DELHI: The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has extended the last date to apply for direct recruitment of various Assistant Professor vacancies till May 15. Interested candidates who have not yet applied can fill the TN TRB application form 2024 through the official website, trb.tn.gov.in.

Earlier, the TN TRB application deadline for assistant professor vacancies was April 29. Th recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 4,000 assistant professor vacancies at government Arts, Science and government colleges of Education in Tamil Nadu.

TN TRB exam pattern 2024

In the written examination, candidates face two papers, collectively accounting for 200 marks. The initial paper, worth 100 marks, is divided into two segments. Section A entails 50 compulsory questions, with 25 dedicated to the Tamil Language and the remaining 25 to General Knowledge, with a focus on Current Affairs. Participants have one hour to tackle Section A.

The section B of the first paper extends over two hours, during which candidates must choose and respond to five out of eight descriptive questions, each carrying a weight of 10 marks, based on their chosen subjects.

Likewise, the second paper comprises two sections: Section A, featuring 50 multiple-choice questions, each valued at one mark, to be completed within an hour; and Section B, where candidates have a two-hour window to tackle any five out of eight questions, each worth 10 marks. Additionally, the Interview round will have the weightage of 30 marks.

TN TRB Recruitment 2024: Qualifying marks

Candidates belonging to general category have to score at least 40 per cent marks to qualify for the exam. While, other categories such as SC, ST, OBC have to score minimum 30 per cent.
