TNEA 2025 choice filling open for 7.5% government school quota; seat allotment tomorrow at 7 am

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2025: TNEA seat allotment results will be declared on July 8 at 7 am, and candidates must confirm their admissions by 5 pm.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has opened the choice filling window for candidates who applied under the 7.5% government school special reservation. Candidates will be able to fill a choice of courses and colleges before 7 pm today. The TNEA choice filling portal is available on the official website, tneaonline.org.
In this regard, the directorate has published the TNEA seat matrix for general academic and government special reservation quota. Candidates applying under the vocational stream will also be able to view the category-wise seats available in the participating universities.
According to the TNEA rank list 2025 , a total of 2,41,641 candidates – a 20.9% increase compared to the previous year– have been allotted ranks. Students are advised to check the availability of seats and previous year TNEA cut-off trends before filling the choices.
Candidates should submit their choices of courses and colleges in the order of preference to increase the chances of getting admission in their desired institute.
TNEA counselling dates 2025
As per the schedule, the tentative TNEA seat allotment results will be declared tomorrow, July 8, at 7 am. Candidates who are allotted seats in round 1 will be given time till 5 pm to confirm their admission and the provisional allotment list will be republished at 9 pm on the same day.
The officials earlier announced that the round 1 counselling under the government special reservation will be held for candidates who have obtained marks in the range of 200 to 179 and TNEA rank between 1 to 2662.
The TNEA counselling for general special reservation categories will commence on July 9. Candidates falling under this category will be given time till July 11 to complete the counselling process.
