Subscribe NowThe Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Civil Services Examination (CSE)-I (Group I Services) on the official website of TNPSC at tnpsc.gov.in. As per the timetable, the online application process will start on June 30, 2026. Eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications until July 29, 2026.
The application correction window for TNPSC Group I 2026 will be open from August 2, 2026 (12:01 am) to August 4, 2026 (11:59 pm), allowing candidates to make necessary changes to their submitted applications. The preliminary examination is scheduled to be conducted on September 6, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Candidates belonging to categories other than SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM), and BCM will not be eligible to apply if they have completed five years or more of service from the date of their first appointment in the Government of India, any State Government, or a Union Territory administration, even if they satisfy the prescribed age criteria.

TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026: Steps to apply
To apply for the TNPSC Combined CSE-I (Group I Services), follow the below steps:
- Visit the official examination portal of TNPSC at tnpscexams.in
- Complete the one-time registration (OTR) process (new user only)
- Log in using the registered credentials and fill out the online application form with the required details
- Upload the necessary documents (prescribed format) & make payment of the applicable examination fee and then submit
- Save a copy and take a printout for future reference
TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026: Selection process
The TNPSC Group 1 recruitment 2026 selection process consists of three stages. Candidates must first appear for the preliminary examination, which serves as the screening test. Those who qualify in the prelims will be eligible to take the mains examination, which is the primary stage for evaluating candidates' knowledge and suitability for the posts.

Candidates shortlisted based on their mains performance will then be called for the interview round, which is the final stage of the selection process for recruitment to Group 1 services in the Tamil Nadu State Government.
