TS EAMCET 2018 goes online; to be held from May 2 to 7

Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU), Hyderabad will conduct TS EAMCET 2018 in online mode for the first time. In a telephonic conversation with Careers360, officials of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) have confirmed that the entrance test will be held in online mode from this year. Apart from changing the mode of the state level engineering entrance test, the exam conducting authority has announced new dates for the exam. As per the new schedule, TS EAMCET 2018 will be held from May 2 to May 7, 2018. Earlier, the entrance test was slated to be held from May 2 to 5. This means that the entrance test has been given 2 more days than the dates announced earlier. Aspiring candidates can now appear in the entrance test in a window of 6 days.
Changing of the mode of the examination is the biggest change that has been implemented in TS EAMCET. So far, the state level engineering entrance test had been conducted in offline mode. Aspiring candidates are advised to get themselves prepared to take the online test by getting familiar with using computers.
In addition, TSCHE officials have also shared that a mock test or demo test for TS EAMCET is also in pipeline and will soon be released for candidates to practise and get familiar with the online test. However, no official release date of the mock test has been decided yet.
Eligible candidates can start filling the application form of TS EAMCET 2018 from the second week of March. The application form will be available in online mode. Mathematics paper of TS EAMCET will have 80 questions while Physics and Chemistry will have a total of 40 questions each. Each correct answer will be given 1 mark and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The total marks for the exam will be 160.
TS EAMCET is conducted every year for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes across the participating institutes in Telangana. There are around 320 participating institutes which offer admission to the qualifying candidates of TS EAMCET.
