NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 3: With the approval process of higher education institutions offering Open and Distance Learning programmes still continuing, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for admission to such courses. The UGC has extended the deadline for the academic session 2018-19 to October 20, 2018.

The UGC Distance Education Bureau in its notice has stated that the Commission in its 535th meeting has decided to extend the last date of admission in the recognized 'Open and Distance Learning' programmes to be offered by the Higher Educational Institutions (HEls) for the academic session 2018-19 to October 20, 2018.

The Notice reads, “The HEls shall complete the admission process by 20th October 2018 and no admission shall be made after this. The revised programme recognition status, based on the decision of the Commission on the representations along with documentary evidence received from the HEls, will be available on the UGC website by October 03, 2018.”

HEls have been asked to start the admission process in the programmes recognised as per the revised programme recognition status. The UGC letter detailing programme wise recognition status to Higher Educational Institutions (HEls) will be issued at the earliest.
