Institutions asked to submit accurate academic and sustainability data via QS portal to boost global ranking visibility

University Grants Commission(UGC) has requested higher educational institutions (HEIs) across India to participate in the data submission process for the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world university rankings 2027. The submission window for QS rankings 2027 is now open and the last date for submission is April 12.
HEIs can submit the data at QS website qs-hub2.qs.com/wp-login.php
UGC has emphasised that institutions must submit comprehensive and accurate data, including sustainability-related information, to ensure proper representation in global rankings. The notice further advises institutions to adhere strictly to timelines and maintain accuracy in submissions, as these inputs play a crucial role in determining global standing and visibility of Indian institutions in international rankings.

This year five Indian engineering institutes secured ranks under 100 globally. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has been ranked 36th worldwide in the engineering and technology category, emerging as the top-performing Indian institution in the latest rankings. IIT Bombay secured the 42nd position, followed by IIT Madras at 62, while IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur were placed at 64 and 84, respectively.
In the arts and humanities stream, the University of Delhi was ranked 231st with a score of 66.2, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University at 260th (65.3). O.P. Jindal Global University secured the 323rd position with 63.7, while IIT Bombay was placed at 345th with a score of 63.1.
In life sciences and medicine, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was ranked 217th globally with a score of 67.3. In natural sciences, IIT Bombay achieved the 78th rank with 77.6, IIT Delhi stood at 91st with 76.8, and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) was placed 125th with a score of 74.9.
For social sciences and management, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad secured the 66th position with a score of 75.6. IIT Delhi followed at 84th (73.9), IIT Bombay at 105th (72), while the University of Delhi ranked 177th (68.9). IIM Calcutta was placed 178th with 68.8, and IIT Kharagpur stood at 196th with a score of 68.1.
