UGC NET 2022 to be held in June: UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar

UGC NET Exam Date 2022: NTA to conduct the UGC NET 2022 for both December 2021 and June 2022 cycles on the first or second week of June 2022.
NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for both December 2021 and June 2022 cycles on the first or second week of June 2022, said the UGC chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar. The UGC NET 2022 schedule will be later announced by NTA, he informed on social media.
"For the merged cycles of December 2021 and June 2022, the next UGC-NET will be conducted in first/second week of June 2022. The exact schedule will be announced once NTA finalizes the dates," Kumar said in a tweet.

UGC NET 2022 application form can be expected soon on the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The UGC NET certificate for JRF has a validity of three years. While, for the assistant professorship, the validity is lifelong.

In the previous year too, NTA merged UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 sessions since the exams got delayed due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation in India. It was conducted between November 20 and December 5, 2021.
The UGC-NET exam determines the eligibility of an individual for the assistant professorship, junior research fellowship or both. The NET exam was previously conducted by CBSE till June 2018. Since December 2018, UGC- NET is being conducted by the NTA. Based upon the UGC NET 2022 score of the candidates in both papers 1 and 2, candidates will be awarded JRF and eligibility for an assistant professorship.
