UGC NET exam is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.

The percentile scores are calculated on the basis of  the relative performances of all the appearing candidates in UGC NET December 2022 session exam. The NTA has announced the UGC NET result 2023 today for 83 subjects.

How to Calculate Cut off Marks For UGC NET 2023?

UGC NET Results 2023 | The aggregate percentage of the paper 1 and paper 2 corresponding to the number of slots arrived at, will determine the qualifying cut-off for eligibility for assistant professor. The cut-off marks are calculated subject-wise.

The full form of NET is National Eligibility Test and of JRF is Junior Research Fellowship. The NTA conducts UGC NET 2023 exam for awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or eligibility certificate for assistant professorship. 

As the NTA conducts the UGC NET exam 2023 multiple shifts, raw marks obtained by the candidates in different shiftsare converted to NTA Score (percentile). For example, in the examination held in two shifts, if the 40% marks correspond to a Percentile score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then all those equal to or above 78 percentiles (Percentile score of 100 to 78) in both shifts will become eligible in General category, the NTA said.

As decided by the NTA, the candidates will be required to secure 45 percent marks in UGC NET exam 2023.

• Maulana Azad National Fellowship Scheme for minorities (MANF) has been discontinued from the financial year 2022-23 onwards.

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the UGC NET scorecard 2023.

• Visit the UGC NET official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in or ntaresults.nic.in.
• Click on the NTA UGC NET result 2023 link.
• Next, enter the UGC NET registration number, date of birth, password.
• UGC NET result PDF will be displayed.
• Download the result page and take the printout of it.

The NTA conducted the exams between February 21 to March 2 for 83 subjects in five phases spanning over 16 days in 32 shifts at 663 centres.

Candidates will be able to download the subject-wise UGC NET final answer key 2023 from the official website. As per the final answer key, a total of 85 questions were dropped.

The minimum UGC NET 2023 qualifying mark for the general category is 40% whereas for the reserved category is 35%.

The NTA UGC NET results 2023 can be expected tomorrow, April 13, at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 

Each question carries 2 marks. For each correct response, candidates will get two marks and there will be no negative marking for incorrect responses.

• No marks will be given for questions un-answered/un-attempted/marked for review.
• To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as correct option.
• If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit.
• If a question is found to be incorrect and the Question is dropped, then two marks (+2) will be awarded to only to those candidates who have attempted the question.
• The reason could be due to human error or technical error.

Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF will be eligible to receive fellowship of the UGC under various schemes, subject to their finding placement in universities, IITs, institutions.

The NTA will announce the UGC NET result 2023 tomorrow on ugcnet.nta.nic.in, UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar informed on Twitter. 

The eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ or for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ will depend on the performance of the candidate in paper 1 and 2 of UGC NET in aggregate. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for the award of JRF.

The validity period of the offer will be three years from the date of issue of JRF Award Letter. "However, for those candidates who have already joined MPhil/ PhD, the date of commencement of fellowship shall be from the date of declaration of NET result or date of their joining, whichever is later," the NTA said.

As per the latest updates, the UGC chairman announced the UGC NET result date 2023. The NTA NET results for December session will be released by tomorrow, April 13.

Candidates who appeared in the UGC NET Dec 2022 exams will be able to check the NET results from the following websites.

The UGC NET December result 2022 link will be activated on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in 2023.
