NTA releases UGC NET cut off 2026 subject-wise and category-wise for 84 subjects
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the UGC NET cut off 2026 subject-wise for 84 subjects along with the result. The cut-offs have been published for three eligibility categories — Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor, Assistant Professor and admission to PhD, and PhD only.

As per the data, Persian recorded the highest UGC NET JRF cut-off at 254 marks. Arabic and geography followed with 250 marks each. Criminology had a JRF cut-off of 246 marks, while Arab Culture and Islamic Studies and Yoga recorded 244 marks each.

As per the UGC NET June 2026 result data, 6,07,151 candidates appeared for the examination conducted for the 84 subjects. Of these, 4,241 candidates qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor; 45,904 qualified for Assistant Professor and PhD admission; and 97,434 qualified for PhD only.
Together, 1,47,579 candidates qualified across the three categories, which is around 24.31% of the candidates who appeared.
The UGC NET results and cut-offs announced for 84 subjects do not apply to English, Commerce and Sociology candidates. NTA will reconduct the examinations for these three subjects on September 9 and 10, 2026. Their results and scorecards will be made available after the re-examination.
