UGC NET December 2024 application form, exam date expected soon; latest updates

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) exam dates for the December session. The UGC NET December 2024 exam details for awarding Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and determining eligibility for assistant professor and PhD admission will be updated on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET Dec 2024 notification is issued in the month of October-November, as per the past trends. The NTA will be conducting the NET exam for a total of 83 papers in several exam centres across the country.

More than 11 lakh candidates registered for the UGC NET June exams this year. Of which, around 9 lakh appeared initially, however, after the exam got cancelled due to paper leak, only 6.84 lakh candidates appeared in the rescheduled exams.

Aspirants are usually given a month’s time to submit the UGC NET December 2024 application form. Candidates belonging to general or unreserved category will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,150, general-EWS, OBC-NCL will have to pay Rs 600, and scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), Person with Disability (PwD) will have to deposit Rs 325.

The UGC NET application form 2024 has to be submitted in online mode only. Before proceeding to registration, candidates should note that they will have to upload a recent photograph of file size between 10KB – 200KB and signature of file size 4 KB to 30 KB. The photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80% face without mask against white background.
