NEW DELHI: University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 results for the June session will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) soon. Candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to access the UGC NET 2024 results through the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
Candidates will have to enter their application number and password to log in and download the UGC NET 2024 scorecard. It is expected that NTA will issue the final answer key along with the UGC NET result 2024.
The UGC NET 2024 exam for the June session was held from August 21 to September 5. The NTA conducted the exam for 83 subjects during this period. Approximately nine lakh students appeared for the UGC NET June 2024 exam, and the results are now awaited.
Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks to be considered for the positions of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Assistant Professor: Candidates who obtain a NET certification and complete a PhD can apply for assistant professor positions at various universities across India, with openings available in both government and private institutions.
Junior Research Fellowship: Another avenue for UGC NET qualifiers is the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). This fellowship is awarded to the top 10% of UGC NET candidates and provides a monthly stipend from the government to support their research. For the initial two years, the stipend is Rs 37,000, which increases to Rs 42,000 upon attaining Senior Research Fellowship status.
As per the UGC NET 2024 marking scheme, candidates will get 2 marks for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The UGC NET 2024 exam, initially scheduled for June, was cancelled due to concerns over the exam's integrity. According to the ministry of education, inputs from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) indicated that there might have been compromises in the examination process, including potential leaks.
Candidates will not be allowed to send their results or scorecards for any kind of re-evaluation. “There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained,” UGC notice read.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) are required to score 35% in both papers to pass the UGC NET 2024 June exam.
The UGC NET 2024 exam was cancelled at four centres- Dr Ghanshyam Singh College of Education in Varanasi, Shankara Group of Institutions in Jaipur, Amatyas Global IT Solution in Jamnagar, and Jainee College of Engineering and Technology in Dindigul, due to technical problems and flood.
Scoring between 65 and 70 per cent of the total marks in UGC NET 2024 is generally considered good. Candidates who score above 65 percent have a higher chance of selection.
