NEW DELHI, MARCH 8: Top researchers from multiple disciplines will be awarded for their contributions in the field of academic research during ‘Faculty Research Awards’ to be held on March 20 in New Delhi. Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar will present the Awards constituted by Careers360 to recognise the efforts of India’s brightest minds in the field of academic research. The award carries Cash Prize and a Citation.
The ‘Most outstanding Researchers’ in 24 different disciplines have been chosen based on a composite score generated by evaluating the academic output in SCOPUS indexed journals for the year 2015 –17, citation count and h-index.
Towards deciding the winners, the weightage for total output, comprehensive citation and h-index are 33.5, 31.6, and 34.9% respectively. This has been arrived at by averaging of differential weightage suggested by top 20 academics of Indian origin ranging from Innovation Guru Prof. R A Mashelkar to celebrated corporate advisor and academician Prof. Nirmalya Kumar. The list also includes Harvard Business School Dean Dr Nitin Nohria, renowned academician and institution-builder Dr Pritam Singh, National Law University Bangalore Vice-Chancellor Dr R Venkata Rao, besides many other renowned academicians in India and abroad.
“Over last 10 years, Careers360 has been doing unbiased ranking and rating of institutions based on data.
