According to the eligibility criteria for the programme, candidates having a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities or arts discipline, with a final overall result of at least first class are eligible.

Students who have graduated within the last 5 years from an Indian university where the medium of instruction is English, and achieved at least 75% for English in their Indian 12th standard examinations will have to submit their evidence.

The fees for this course is 26,500 Euros for Indian students. Applicants will have to pay 1,000 Euros after receiving their offer, which will be deducted from tuition fees on registering to start their course.

The university said that students will take both compulsory and optional units and can explore topics such as contemporary criminological theory, introduction to criminal law, the architecture of criminal justice and more, alongside undertaking a criminology dissertation.

“The course aims to approach criminology from a global perspective, particularly in units such as state crime, rights and global justice. Students on this course can expect to develop research, analysis and communication skills and gain an understanding of how these skills can be applied in the criminal justice field,” it added.

Students who complete the course will get to work in the fields related to criminology such as prison and probation services, victim support, offender management, rehabilitation and more. Graduates may also wish to consider further study such as a social and policy sciences PhD at the University of Bath.
