UoH PhD Admission 2024: Hyderabad University clarifies on admission via CSIR, UGC NET score

Hyderabad University will now conduct the UoH entrance exam for only 6 PhD programmes. Regional Studies and PhD Neural and Cognitive Studies will be offered through CSIR, UGC NET.

NEW DELHI: University of Hyderabad (UoH) has started the registration for PhD admission for the academic year 2024-25. In this regard, the university clarified that among the 8 PhD programmes offered through UoH entrance exam, two subjects, PhD Regional Studies and PhD Neural and Cognitive Studies, will now be offered based on CSIR UGC NET and UGC NET score.

The university announced that it has decided to adopt the UGC NET scores for admission into PhD programmes, as per the order issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on May 27.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC-NET exam 2024 for social science, humanities. management studies and computer science streams. Similarly, the NTA conducts the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam 2024 for chemical sciences; earth, atmospheric; ocean and planetary sciences; life sciences; mathematical sciences; and physical sciences. The application window for UGC NET June 2024 and CSIR UGC-NET is already closed.

The last date to apply for Hyderabad University PhD admission 2024 is June 18. Application form has to be submitted through the official website, uohyd.ac.in.

MA in any social science discipline OR

MSc in Geography, disaster management or environment studies with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the subject.

Master's degree with a minimum of 55% in neural and cognitive sciences, neuroscience, cognitive science, or any branch of biological science like zoology. biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, etc.

The university will conduct the entrance exam for PhD Applied Linguistics; PhD Translation Studies; PhD Optometry and Vision Sciences; PhD Nanoscience and Technology; PhD Materials Engineering; PhD Regional Studies; PhD English Language Studies; and PhD Neural and Cognitive Science. The detailed notification regarding the entrance exam will be issued soon on the official website, uohyd.ac.in. A total of 355 PhD seats will be filled through NET and UoH entrance exams.
