UP government revises fee for BTech, technical courses offered by private colleges

The revised fees for BTech programmes and diploma in engineering in private technical institutions is Rs 55,000 and Rs 30,150 respectively.

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government is all set to revise fees for degree and diploma courses offered by private engineering and technical institutions for the 2022-23 academic year. The Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC), UP has issued a fee order 2022-23 according to which the fees for BTech programmes will be Rs 55,000 whereas the fees for diploma in engineering will be Rs 30,150 in private institutions from the 2022-23 session. The fees decided by the committee does not include fees for hostel, exams, and security and will be valid as the tuition fee, as per AFRC order.

AFRC secretary Rajesh Chandra said in the order that institutes which agree with the decided fees will have to upload an acceptance letter on the official website of AFRC - afrcup2018.in within 15 days of the issuance of the fee order.

However, the institutes who disagree with the revised fee order and wish to determine a different fee will have to submit a justifiable proposal along with expenditure details on the AFRC website within a month. “Fee of such institutions will be decided post assessment by the committee,” the secretary added.

The revised fee for one year and two-year diploma programmes is Rs 22,500 whereas the changed fees for all courses in government-aided institutions is Rs 19,000.

The AFRC order further said that it is mandatory for all private technical institutions to submit their proposal whether they agree or disagree with the revised fee structure via online. Those institutions which do not submit an option application, it will considered that they agree with the revised fees determined by the committee.
