UP Home Guard 2025 registration open for over 40,000 posts; apply by December 17

UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025: Kanpur leads with 1,947 vacancies, followed by Lucknow with 1,371 and Prayagraj with 1,219 posts.
UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has opened the application process for the UP home guard recruitment 2025. Eligible candidates can register for the UP home guard recruitment 2025 through the official website at uppbpb.gov.in.
Candidates applying for the UP Home Guards 2025 recruitment will have to pay an application fee of Rs 400 for the General, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Other Backwards Classes (OBC) categories.
Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are required to pay Rs 300. The last date to apply for the exam and pay the application fee is December 17.
UP Home Guard Recruitment 2025: Eligibility criteria
Eligibility criteria for UP Home Guards Recruitment 2025, including educational qualifications and age limits, are given below.
Educational qualification:
- Candidates should have passed Class 10 from a recognised board in India or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Uttar Pradesh government.
- Only candidates who already hold the required educational qualification at the time of application are eligible.
- Candidates appearing in the Class 10 examination are not eligible.
- Mark sheets or certificates of the qualifying examination should be submitted with the application. Verification of authenticity and equivalence will be at the discretion of the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025):
- The age eligibility for UP home guards recruitment 2025 is 18 to 30 years old for General and EWS candidates.
- Candidates from SC, ST, and OBC have a 5-year age relaxation, making their upper age limit 35 years. Ex‑servicemen from Uttar Pradesh are eligible if their age, after deducting the period of military service, does not exceed 33 years.
- Age proof should be submitted via High School/Equivalent mark sheet or certificate.
- Only residents of Uttar Pradesh belonging to eligible categories can claim age relaxation.

UP Home Guard 2025: Total vacancies
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 41,424 vacancies for Home Guard positions in 75 districts under various categories. Of these, 16,650 posts are reserved for General category candidates, 4,331 for EWS candidates, 11,090 for OBC candidates, 8,645 for SC candidates, and 808 for ST candidates.
Of the total 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur has the highest number of vacancies for the UP home guards posts, with a total of 1,947 posts, including 782 for the general/EWS category, 408 for the SC, 38 for the ST, 525 for the OBC, and 194 for the economically weaker/other backward sections.
Lucknow follows with 1,371 vacancies, while Prayagraj and Varanasi have 1,219 and 1,004 posts, respectively. On the lower end, districts like Bhadohi and Lalitpur report the fewest vacancies, with 77 and 188 posts, respectively.
