UP NEET UG counselling 2026 round 1 dates soon; security deposit for medical colleges

The Director General Medical Education and Training (DGME) Uttar Pradesh will announce the UP NEET UG counselling 2026 dates soon on upneet.gov.in and dgme.up.gov.in. Only candidates who passed the NEET UG 2026 entrance exam are eligible to participate in the UP NEET UG 2026 counselling.

UP NEET counselling 2026 will fill 85% of state quota seats for qualified state-domicile candidates, while 15% fall under the All India Quota (AIQ). Students will be able to apply for UP NEET UG counselling 2026 round 1 once the dates are announced by DGME Uttar Pradesh.

For UP NEET counselling 2026 registration, candidates must complete the registration process using their mobile number and email ID. To participate in the online counselling, students will have to deposit a registration fee of Rs 2,000 through online mode. The registration fee will not be refunded.

UP NEET Counselling 2026: Required documents

Eligible candidates must select a nodal center for the online verification of documents on the official website upneet.gov.in during registration.

• High School Marksheet/Certificate
• Intermediate Marksheet
• Reservation-related certificate (OBC, SC, ST, EWS & Ex-Army, NCC, FF, PWD), if applicable
• Domicile Certificate, if applicable

UP NEET Counselling 2026: Security fee deposit

UP NEET counselling 2026 security money will be deposited by the candidates through the online process. Candidates who do not deposit the security money will not be eligible for choice filling.

The security deposit for UP NEET MBBS and BDS seats is shown in the table below.

As per the counselling rules, candidates participating are advised to use their own bank account while depositing the security amount because, after the completion of all rounds of counselling, the security amount of unallotted candidates will be refunded to the same bank account from which the payment was made.

This also means that if a candidate does not take admission after allotment in the first round of counseling, their security amount will be refunded.
