National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 is scheduled to be held on June 21 for medical aspirants across India. Uttar Pradesh continues to be one of the major centres for MBBS admissions, with both government and private medical colleges witnessing tough competition during counselling every year. Previous year counselling trends show that leading government institutions such as King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai remained among the most sought-after medical colleges in the state.

Previous year counselling trends indicate that top government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh closed admissions at comparatively lower NEET ranks due to high demand among candidates. Institutions including KGMU Lucknow, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, GSVM Medical College Kanpur and Sarojini Naidu Medical College Agra dominate student preference lists.
