UP Police constable paper leak reports surface on social media; UPPPRB refutes claims

NEW DELHI: After RO and ARO exam, reports of UP Police constable exam paper leak have now taken the social media by storm. Candidates who appeared for the recruitment exam have alleged that the recruitment exam conducted on February 17 in the second shift was leaked.

Students shared some screenshots and images of WhatsApp on X (formerly Twitter) and claimed that the UP Police constable paper had been shared with the aspirants. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPPRB) clarified that the reports of paper leak are false.

“Preliminary investigation found that miscreants are using Telegram's edit facility to cheat and spread misconceptions about paper leaks on social media. Board and Up police are monitoring these incidents and thoroughly investigating their sources. The examination is continuing safely and smoothly,” UPPPRB said in a post.

“How is this UP government conducting exams that every exam paper is getting leaked ? It happened to RO and ARO, now it has happened to UPP too,” an X user wrote in a post. Several students demanded cancellation of the exam.

In recent developments, the UP police today arrested 14 people in Ballia district for alleged cheating in the ongoing exam. Those arrested include three men impersonating police constable aspirants.

The state police have nabbed more than 100 people from Etah, Mau, Prayagraj, Siddharthanagar, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Firozabad, Kaushambi, Hathras, Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra, Kanpur, Ballia, Deoria and Bijnor districts over the last two days for alleged impersonation and cheating in the UP Police constable recruitment exam.

UP Police constable exam was conducted on February 17 and 18 in two shifts – first shift from 10 am to 12 noon and second shift from 3 pm to 5 pm. The exam was held for the direct recruitment of 60,244 male and female police constables in the Uttar Pradesh police department.
