UPES University teams up with University of Edinburgh, King’s College London to provide ‘global exposure’

NEW DELHI: UPES University, Dehradun has signed agreements with University of Edinburgh and King’s College London to foster academic excellence, enhance research innovation, and facilitate cultural exchange. The agreement aims to boost UPE University's commitment to provide students with global exposure and learning opportunities.

The agreement between UPES University and the University of Edinburgh will strengthen UPES University's global pathway programmes and enhance progression opportunities within its school of engineering, the university said.

UPES University's partnership with King’s College London will enhance several collaborative initiatives, including joint research projects to drive innovation. It also aims to enhance student mobility by allowing UPES students to participate in exchange programmes, summer schools, and other educational experiences, the university added.

Ram Sharma, vice chancellor, UPES University, said: "Collaborations like these play a pivotal role in the UPES’s global engagement journey. By connecting with leading institutions worldwide, we aim to create a vibrant ecosystem of knowledge exchange, academic excellence, and transformative opportunities that prepare our students and faculty to make a meaningful impact on a global scale."

Student, faculty exchange programmes

The pacts with King’s College London and the University of Edinburgh will have the following highlights:

King’s College London: Faculty exchanges are part of this collaboration, which will promote sharing of academic expertise and research knowledge between the universities. Furthermore, it will provide students with a pathway to continue their studies at King’s College London. The partnership also facilitates the exchange of academic publications, broadening the research impact and strengthening scholarly communication between the institutions.

University of Edinburgh: This partnership offers several integrated programs, such as 2+2, 2+3, and 4+1, allowing students to complete part of their studies at UPES and then continue at the University of Edinburgh.

Special scholarships

Students will be eligible for special scholarships, and the University of Edinburgh will confer the final degree. Moreover, they can also opt for direct master’s progression at the University of Edinburgh after completing their bachelor’s degree at UPES.
