NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) is going to re-conduct the written examination for the recruitment of UPPBPB UP Police constable posts. As per the official notice, the UP Police written exam will take place on August 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, 2024 in two shifts.

The decision to re-conduct the examination comes after the previous exam, held on February 17 and 18, was cancelled due to paper leak allegations. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh had directed that the examination be re-conducted within six months to ensure a fair opportunity for all candidates.

The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 60,244 Police Constable positions. Out of this, 24,102 vacancies are reserved for unreserved category candidates, 6,024 for economically weaker sections and 16,264 vacancies are reserved for other backward class (OBC) category candidates. For scheduled castes (SC) and scheduled tribes (ST) category candidates 12,650 and 1,204 vacancies are respectively reserved.

According to the official notice, candidates participating in the Police Constable recruitment exam examination will have the facility of free bus service provided by the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Candidates can avail of this service at their convenience.

"To use the bus service, candidates must download two additional copies of their admit card. One copy is to be presented to the bus conductor for the journey to the exam centre, and the other copy is to be presented for the return journey after the examination," the official notice read.

The selection process for the UPPBPB Constable Recruitment 2024 includes a written examination, physical tests, document verification and medical examination.
