UPPSC PCS 2024 Prelims: Examination will likely be conducted in mid-December this year.

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the postponement of the UPPSC PCS Prelims 2024 examination. Initially the UPPSC PCS Prelims 2024 exam was scheduled for October 27. The UPPSC combined state, senior subordinate services prelims examination will now likely be conducted in mid-December 2024.
Candidates can check the official notice for updates on the UPPSC website at uppsc.up.gov.in. A separate release will notify candidates about the revised UPPSC PCS Prelims 202 exam date and schedule.
Although the exact reason for the postponement has not been specified in the official announcement, such delays are often attributed to administrative adjustments, logistical issues, or unavoidable circumstances. The Commission has stated that the new UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 exam schedule will be communicated soon through an official notice.

The preliminary examination will consist of two compulsory papers, both of which will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets. The UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 paper I will be held from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and paper II will be conducted from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Each paper of UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 will carry a total of 200 marks. The duration of each paper is 2 hours.
Paper I focuses on General Studies, including topics like history, geography, economics, politics, environmental studies, and current affairs. Paper II (CSAT) tests candidates on reasoning, comprehension, and basic numeracy skills
Paper II will serve as a qualifying paper, requiring candidates to secure a minimum of 33%. To be eligible for evaluation, candidates must appear for both papers. Failure to attend paper will lead to disqualification.
