UPSC ESE Mains 2024 today; admit card link, paper timings, exam-day guidelines
UPSC ESE 2024 Main exam will be held in two shifts – 9 am to 12 noon and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Engineering Services Commission (ESE) Mains exam 2024 today, June 23. Candidates are required to carry their UPSC ESE Mains 2024 admit card along with a photo ID proof to the exam centre. The UPSC ESE 2024 admit card for Main exam can be downloaded at upsc.gov.in.
The mains exam of UPSC ESE 2024 will comprise two papers – discipline specific paper 1 and discipline specific paper 2. The duration of UPSC ESE Main 2024 exam will be three hours. The question paper will carry a total of 300 marks.

The paper-wise timings of UPSC ESE 2024 Mains exam are as follows:

UPSC ESE 2024: Important instructions
The aspirants of UPSC ESE 2024 Main exam are advised to follow the exam-day guidelines given below.
- In case the candidate’s photograph is not clear, blurred or not available on the admit card, candidates will have to carry two identical photographs (one photograph for each session) at the exam centre with an undertaking.
- Candidates will have to report at least 30 minutes before the commencement of exam – 8:30 am for the forenoon session and 2 pm for the afternoon session. No candidate will be given entry into the examination centre after the closure of gates.
- Students are advised to carry a black ball point pen.
- Candidates are allowed to carry normal or simple wrist watches. However, watches fitted with any special accessory that might be used as a communication device or smart watches are strictly prohibited.
- Candidates are not allowed to carry any valuables or costly items, mobile phones, smart or digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, bags, etc. to the exam centre.
- Candidates are allowed to carry only admit card, pen, pencil, identity proof, copies of self photographs to the exam venue.
- Possession or use of mobile phones (even in switch-off mode) and other electronics or communication devices or any other incriminating material (notes on e-Admit Cards, papers, erasers etc.) or violation of any instruction shall entail disciplinary action which may include cancellation of candidature of candidate, filing of FIR or police complaint against the candidate or prohibition from appearing in subsequent sessions of the exam.
