NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 14: Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtriya Hindi Viswavidyalaya (MGAHV) in Wardha, Maharashtra has revoked the expulsion order of the six students who wrote to the prime minister.

Hundreds of Wardha University students had participated in an open letter campaign on October 10 in which they wrote to the prime minister seeking his intervention to stop the rising cases of mob lynching and to resolve the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Among the participating students, six were singled out and served with expulsion orders by the university on the same day out of which three were Dalits while the other three belonged to the OBC category. Chandan Saroj, Vaibhav Pimpalkar, Rajneesh Kumar, Rajesh Yadav, Neeraj Kumar and Pankaj Kumar have been called back by the university.

The order had stated that the students were “expelled for breaking the 2019 assembly election code of conduct and interfering in the judicial process".
