NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan government has ordered the coaching institutes operating in the district to provide the students a mandatory weekly off on Sunday while a half-day on Wednesday.

The order was passed by the government following a virtual meeting, headed by secretary of the state higher and technical education department. The order specifically mentioned that new exams will be conducted on Sunday in the coaching institutes of the district.

It further stated the institutes will have to organise fun activities such as magic shows, singing classes, wellness centre classes and others on the half-day i.e. on Wednesdays. The orders have been given for ensuring emotional, psychological and social well-being of the students studying in Kota.

The coaching institutes have also been directed to not conduct any test for the next two months. The institutes have to ensure that this order is followed. The management also has to ensure that motivational posters are plastered in the rooms and speeches are conducted to boost the confidence of the students, it added.

As per the order, the institutes will also have to organise fun activities at different spots on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Kota district administration will be organising a review visit to the hostels and paying guest accommodations to check the well being of the students. They will check whether the orders given by district administration to fit ceiling fans with spring devices have been implemented or not. They will also review the well being of the students.

The team will have to submit a report after seven-days. This year, 22 students studying in coaching institutes in the city have committed suicide.
