NEW DELHI: The Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is likely to discuss in a meeting today, holding of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022 scheduled for tomorrow, June 19 amid the protests against the Agnipath scheme recently launched by the government for recruitment of soldiers, as per Live Law. CLAT 2022 will be held in more than 80 cities across the country.

Protests against the Agnipath defence recruitment scheme raged through several states for the third day on Friday with trains torched, public property vandalized and many thousands blocking tracks and highways. At least 200 trains were affected, 35 cancelled and 13 short-terminated, railway officials said. Angry crowds, some armed with brickbats and stones, fanned out across large parts of India, from Uttar Pradesh to Telangana and Bihar to Madhya Pradesh, as per a PTI report.

CLAT 2022 students are worried about reaching their exam centres and appearing for the law exam amid the chaotic situation. Candidates took to Twitter to share their concern.
A Twitter user said, “The CLAT 2022 exam is scheduled on June 19. Aspirants from various parts of Haryana, Bihar and UP are unable to reach to their exam centres due to protests (trains cancelled and roads blocked). Please share this to help these aspirants.”

An aspirant tweeted, “Amidst the aggravated protest, protesters are doing arson and trains from Howrah to Patna are all cancelled. Roads are jammed and protesters are even hurling stones at running trains. What makes you think that travelling via a private vehicle is safe?”
