Woxsen University launches project to empower marginalised adolescent girls

Under 'Project Aspiration' by Woxsen University, Girl students from classes 9 to 12 took part in the 'Train the Trainer' workshop to build skills.

NEW DELHI: Woxsen University launches project aspiration for girls of classes 9 to 12 from Telangana model school and junior college. The project selected a few meritorious girl students to take part in the 'Train the Trainer' workshop that began in December 2022.

The students were exposed to different aspects of future, developing SMART goals and earnt how to work towards achieving them in over three weeks of training sessions. The workshop was led by School of Business, dean, Kakoli Sen and Cary Cooper professor of organisational psychology, Shubhendhu Patnik.

The professors at Woxsen University spoke to students about the various avenues of higher education and career opportunities while counsellor, Subha Jain acquainted them with important concepts of mental health and counselling. 'Project Aspiration' organised activities including debates and deliberated on social issues.

After the completion of the workshop, the girl students applied the teachings in various role-play and simulation activities. Cary Cooper professor of organisational psychology, Shubhendhu Patnik said: "The Project Aspiration is not a one-time program but a continuation of teaching and learning. As long as the trainees evolve into trainers and this process continues, the project Aspiration will keep evolving organically.”

The project was launched by Woxsen's centre of excellence. According to the official website, The centre is a body that provides students with skills such as leadership, best practices, research, support, training of trainers and skill training for specific sectors. The centre is an ecosystem established and is working in partnership with industry to raise training standards, boost productivity, address emerging skill gaps and align training and research with industry needs.
