XLRI Jamshedpur hosts 69th annual convocation ceremony; confers degrees to 595 students

NEW DELHI: The Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur hosted its 69th Annual Convocation at the Tata Auditorium of the institute. A total of 595 students graduated across various disciplines, and the event marked the culmination of academic excellence, leadership, and societal commitment.

According to the XLRI statement, a total 184 students graduated from human resource management (HRM) department; 226 from business management (BM); 15 from logistics and supply chain management (LSCM); 115 from general management programme (GMP); 43 from post graduate programme in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture creation (PGP-IEV); and 12 from fellow programme management.

Additionally, three faculty members and 14 administrative staff were also awarded the Long Service Medal for 15 years of service to the institution.

XLRI also awarded medals for students with academic achievements from different departments including:

  • From HRM: Piyush Rai (1st), Karan Chauhan (2nd), Lakshay Arora (3rd)
  • From BM: Shivansh Totla (1st), Aditi Gupta (2nd), Aradhya Kulshreshta (3rd)
  • From LSCM: Anubhaw Kumar (1st), Alen Thomas Kattakayam (2nd)
  • From GMP: Pranav Varma (1st), Ajay Bajaj (2nd), Sugandha Om Prakash Singh (3rd)

XLRI hosted Sanjiv Puri, the chairman and MD of ITC Ltd, as the chief guest and convocation speaker. He was also conferred the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace for his contributions to industry and society.

The event was attended by TV Narendran, the chairman of the Board of Governors, XLRI and CEO and MD, Tata Steel Ltd, alongside XLRI’s director Sebastian George, dean of academics Sanjay K Patro, and the dean of administration and finance Donald D’Silva.

TV Narendran the chairman of board of governors, XLRI, addressed the graduating class and said: “As you step into the world, remember that leadership is about creating meaningful impact. XLRI has prepared you to lead with integrity, embrace innovation, and drive sustainable progress. You are now part of a legacy that influences industries and communities worldwide. Congratulations and best wishes for your journey ahead.”
