10 students bag Avery Dennison Foundation scholarship worth USD 1300 each

NEW DELHI, AUGUST 31: The Avery Dennison Foundation in collaboration with the Institute of International Education (IIE) has announced the top 10 winners of its Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Award 2018. The winners received a scholarship of USD 1300 each, along with an opportunity to participate in a special workshop on invention and innovation.
Over 400 students, from the five participating engineering institutes across India, joined the application process. The winners belong to reputed institutes such as: the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi; IIT-Bombay; MKSSS’s Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Pune; National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli; M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru; have been rewarded for their outstanding innovation capabilities in engineering, science and technology.
The programme is designed to recognize and reward invention, innovation and excellence in high-achieving students, in the fields of science, engineering and technology at selected higher education institutions in the country.
The Avery Dennison team felicitated the scholars at an award ceremony held in New Delhi and the program will continue to provide support for leadership and innovation development through alumni engagement.
Started in India in 2012, the Avery Dennison Foundation Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Program has awarded a total of 60 scholarships to date, in the country.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Janet Sandoval, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Avery Dennison Foundation, says, “The Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship empowers university students to become agents of change. Fellows work to ensure that they gain the knowledge, skills and attitude required to compete in the economy of the future and make a positive impact on the world.
