32 RCA students from Jamia Millia Islamia clear UPSC CSE 2024 exam, including 12 women

NEW DELHI: The Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced that 32 of its candidates have cleared the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE) 2024 exam. Of the 78 RCA students who reached the interview stage, 32 made it to the final list. Among those selected, 12 are women.

The commission declared the UPSC CSE result 2024 today, April 22. Alfred Thomas secured the highest rank among RCA candidates with an All India Rank of 33. He is followed by Iram Choudhary with Rank 40 and Ruchika Jha at Rank 51.

Candidates to join IAS, IPS, IRS

The university expects that some of the selected candidates will be allotted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), while others may be assigned to the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), and other Group-A posts, based on their rank and service preferences.

“Delighted with this stellar performance of JMI's RCA-coached candidates, the Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar of JMI, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, extended their heartfelt congratulations to all the candidates trained by RCA who have cleared the prestigious exam,” the official press release said.

Women candidates serve as role models

According to the institute, RCA in-charge, Samina Bano, was closely involved in guiding the candidates this year. The university said students who were not selected despite reaching the interview stage will be supported in preparing for the next cycle.
