82 meritorious students awarded for exceptional performance in GTSE, NTSE and JTSTE

NEW DELHI, MAY 25: Over 200 school students from classes VI to XII across India participated in “20th Amity National Mathematics Workshop” organized by Amity Institute of Competitive Examination (AICE) which concluded today at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.

The students from various schools Presidium, Mayoor International School, Saraswati Bal Bharti School), DPS R K Puram, Maxwell School, Amity International Schools located in (Noida, Vasundhara & Pushp Vihar, Gurgaon) and other schools participated in the 5 Day National Mathematics Workshop.

Amity National Mathematics Workshop aims to groom Indian students to shine in National and International Mathematics Olympiads by exposing them to a perfect blend of theory and hands- on practice by subject experts in a very congenial environment.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools thanked all the parents for making a discreet choice of sending their children for the Workshop. She appreciated all the resources persons and teachers who mentored the students and shared that Amity initiates and conducts numerous events in the area of Science and Mathematics because we want to make a nation which is rich in culture, knowledge and innovation. She called upon the students to work hard every day for self-improvement.

Lauding the brilliant teachers and participating students, Dr. Deepak Bhatnagar, Secretary General of Pellet Manufacturers (Association of India) said that when a teacher is enthusiastic then the same positive induction is passed on to the young minds. Sharing a story of late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, he added "Dr Kalam believed that only three category of people are required to make India a developed nation by 2020; parents, teachers and the youth." Dr Deepak remarked that mathematics is a tough subject but it also gives a life lesson of experiencing happiness after solving a tough problem.

Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu addressed the gathering through a video message lauded Amity for being a great institute providing quality education, world class infrastructure and nurturing future global leaders. He averred that it is time to integrate India into the global market and to make that happen, we need to create an interactive ecosystem for students, faculty and others from different parts of the world and commended Amity for working on the same vision.

Sharing her views, Meenakshi Rawal-Director, Amity Institute of Competitive Examination (AICE) and Amity Centre for Science Olympiad presented a brief summary of the week long Workshop, various achievements and competitive examinations organized by AICE for young students in Science and Mathematics .She shared that the participation of students in Mathematics Workshop has been increasing every year and the day is not far when India will have numerous Noble Laureates to shine in the global arena.

Kritika Raj, Class XII student of Mayoor International School expressed her joy and elation in attending the Workshop which helped her learn Mathematics and its applications in a fun way along with understand the tricky concepts taught in senior classes with ease and simplicity in a congenial environment

61 meritorious students of Amity International Schools were awarded with certificated medals and cash prize upto Rs. 15,000/- for performing exceptionally well in GTSE 2017 ; 04 meritorious students of Amity Schools who secured good ranks in JTSTE 2018 were felicitated with certificates and cash prize upto Rs. 5000/- and 17 meritorious students of Amity International School (Delhi NCR) who have cleared the Stage 1 and qualified for Stage 2 of NTSE 2018 were awarded with cash prizes upto Rs. 15,000/- during the ceremony.

Congratulating the talented students Dr Sadhna Srivastava Scientist F., Intellectual Property Rights in Health Research - ‎ICMR said that participation in such examinations is a beginning of creating milestones for a successful future. She expressed her delight while interacting with young brilliant minds who have a futuristic vision for the development of Nation. She further added that these innovative elements of young India will contribute immensely by providing different and innovative services to the society. Dr. Sadhna shared that seeing the achievements of Amity students have assured her that the school nurtures the best in every student.
