NEW DELHI: IIM Bangalore successfully conducted the CAT exam on November 27, 2022 in computer based mode. Candidates now await the CAT 2022 result. Last year, the CAT result date was January 03, 2022. However the official notification of the CAT exam result date and time is not out yet.
To download the CAT result 2022 and final answer key, candidates will have to visit the official website, iimcat.ac.in. The CAT 2022 result will be released for CAT slots 1, 2 and 3. As the CAT exam was held in three sessions, the CAT score of candidates will be subject to the normalisation process. In addition, they can predict their percentile, using the CAT percentile predictor.
As per the official CAT notice released earlier, “The list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the respective IIMs. Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly.”
The details that will be mentioned in the CAT result 2022 are:
CAT 2022 registration number/ user Id
Candidate's name, category and gender
Date of birth
Date and time of CAT exam
Contact details and email address
CAT scaled score (overall)
CAT score (section-wise)
CAT percentile score (section-wise)
CAT percentile score (overall)
The final CAT answer key 2022 will be prepared only if the objections raised by test takers are termed as valid. The final answer key of CAT will be the basis on which CAT 2022 result will be prepared and candidates’ raw scores and percentiles will be calculated.
Check out the process of CAT percentile calculation:
Each candidate is first given CAT marks in each section as per number of correct and incorrect attempts, then the overall score is arrived at by totaling the section-wise scores.
Thereafter, these section-wise and overall scores (raw scores) are normalised to arrive at a scaled CAT score.
The normalised scores are converted into percentiles which are reported in the CAT scorecards.
