COVID-19: Delhi University college reduces fee for second, third year students

NEW DELHI: Delhi University’s Rajdhani College has reduced fees for students in second and third year to help those facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The college has reduced the fees by Rs 2,010, from Rs 3,370 charged under various heads to Rs 1,360, for second and third year students for the 2021-22 academic year.

The notice says: “The governing body has considered and approved the relaxation or reduction of an amount of Rs 2010 for the students of second and third year for the academic year 2021-22 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The existing fee amount is Rs 3,370 and after the relaxed fee is deducted from the existing amount the fee that students will have to pay is Rs 1,360.

In July a group of students from Delhi University protested, demanding to waive the non-academic fee owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and because students had not availed these services since March last year.

The Delhi University recently decided to reopen campuses from September 15. All students, teachers and non-teaching staff have to be vaccinated with both doses of COVID-19 vaccine before offline classes resume.
