NTA suspends Jaipur test centre’s empanelment over AIAPGET 2026 lapses; students allege ‘paper leak’

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing fresh controversy after lapses in the conduct of the AIAPGET 2026 exam at a Jaipur test centre. Following this, NTA has issued a show-cause notice to M/s Eduquity Career Technologies Pvt Ltd and suspended its empanelment with immediate effect.

NTA conducted the AIAPGET 2026 exam in two shifts at more than 200 exam centres. Of 51,482 registered candidates, 49,867 appeared for the test.

However, due to a failure in the power supply at a Jaipur exam centre, NTA has announced a new date for the affected candidates. AIAPGET 2026 retest has been scheduled for September 1 for 49 candidates who were affected by the lapses at the Jaipur test centre.

Around 190 students appeared for the exam at Shri Satya Sai PG College Centre Jaipur, and 49 could not complete the test due to a disruption in the power supply.

AIAPGET 2026: Test-takers allege paper leak

A video circulating on social media shows a girl student who appeared for the AIAPGET 2026 exam at the Jaipur exam centre, crying and alleging a paper leak.

“I saw people discussing the questions openly during exam.. you actually leaked our paper too at the same centre .. the exam for homoeopathy should also be canceled. Even after charging .. mind you nearly 3000 per candidate.. you’re unable to give us even a dignified exam centre .. #shameonNTA #aiapget2026,” another student posted on X.

For the record, the AIAPGET 2026 application form fee is Rs 2,700 for general (UR) candidates, while it is Rs 2,450 for general-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and Rs 1,800 for SC, ST, PwBD, and other candidates.

The X user further alleged they were allowed to enter the exam centre at around 3:50, while the second shift paper was supposed to begin at 3 pm. The student further complained that the “biometrics were lagging”; there was no arrangement for frisking.

The user posted on X and said: “I was there for the second shift but we were only allowed to enter after 3:50.. the biometrics were lagging, no arrangement for proper checking .. many students went straight for the exam without proper frisking .. it was tim shed where we were supposed to give exam , hot -humid.”

NTA under spotlight again

This isn't the first time NTA is under fire for the conduct of the national-level competitive exam.

NTA’s UGC NET 2026 exam saw several factual and spelling errors in its question papers, specifically in English, commerce and sociology. NTA has announced a re-exam date for the affected candidates.

In another controversy, NTA faced backlash after the NEET UG paper leak, affecting more than 20 lakh students. The NEET paper leak was one of the reasons the Cockroach Jantar Party (CJP) protested to Parliament, demanding the resignation of then-education minister Pradhan. The Delhi police tried to stop the protesting students, leaving several bruised and injured.
