NEW DELHI, AUGUST 7 : Even as LLB graduates find themselves restless, there is no sign from Bar Council of India (BCI) announcing the results of All India Bar Examination (AIBE) soon. It has been almost two months when the bar examination was held.
The BCI regulated bar examination was conducted on June 10, after which the answer keys were published on June 13, 2018. The Bar Council had asked the test takers to file objections to the discrepant answers or questions till June 23, 2018.
Post June 23, there have been no further notification or announcement for the AIBE results from the Bar Council of India.
“Until the results are announced and we get a COP (Certificate of Practice) from the council; everything is dilemmatic,” says Harvinder Khosla, a DU LLB graduate.
This has not been the first when the Bar Council has delayed AIBE results. Every year, the history repeats itself.
“BCI is apparently the sole regulatory body for legal education in India and yet can’t publish results on time,” comments an anguished Garima, one of the AIBE test takers.
Careers360 contacted the Bar Council but the BCI officials are yet to provide a definitive date for AIBE results. “The council will notify the candidates through the official website regarding AIBE results as and when the same is made ready,” said a BCI official.
All India Bar Examination is an open-book examination administered by Bar Council of India to award the ‘Certificate of Practice’ (COP) to the LLB graduates. The June 10-conducted AIBE was held for the twelfth session.
