NEW DELHI: Following the Delhi High Court’s order dated January 7, 2021, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).

The SoPs for AIBE exam are based on the guidelines and SOP issued by the ministry of human resource and development (MHRD) to conduct the examination.

The guidelines to be followed by the candidates also includes mandatory submission of a declaration form by the candidate on health status, downloading Arogya Setu App and a provision for a separate room for candidates reporting fever or any other symptoms related to the COVID-19. The detailed guidelines for the AIBE exam are given below.

  1. The candidates should follow the guidelines and SoP issued by the MHRD and the state government.

  2. The candidates should follow all the instructions and guidelines give by the invigilator and the controller of the examination.

  3. If there are restrictions on the movement in a certain area, AIBE admit card will be treated as a pass for the movement of the candidates for appearing in the examination.

  4. Candidates must submit a declaration form with regard to health issue(s) at the entrance gate of the examination centre. The declaration form is attached to the admit card of the candidates.

  5. At the test centre, candidates will have to co-operate in getting temperature check, maintaining social distancing, and other norms as prescribed.

  6. Candidates will be given sanitiser at the gate of the test centre. Candidates should wear the mask all the time during the examination.

  7. It is mandatory for the candidates to download Argoya Setu App on their mobile phones.

  8. Cleanliness and hygienic conditions will be maintained at all places at the test centre.

  9. Candidates should follow proper signage, symbols; posture should be displayed at appropriate places to maintain social distancing.

  10. In case if it is found that any candidate has symptoms of fever, cough, and cold, he/she should be either made to sit in a separate room or not be allowed to sit in the examination.

  11. There should not be crowding at the entry and exit gate.

In a separate notification, the council has already announced that candidates testing positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to appear in the current session. Such candidates may, however, request the monitoring committee to carry forward their fees to the next session of AIBE which is scheduled to take place on March 21, 2021.

The SoPs mentioned above are added to the exam day guidelines shared with the candidates through the AIBE admit card which was released on December 24, 2020. AIBE XV (15) will be conducted on January 24, 2021, in more than 40 test centres across the country.
