AICTE approval mandatory for institutes offering B.Des, M.Des

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 4: The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has stated that colleges and institutes are required to get approval from AICTE if they plan to introduce bachelor of design and master of design programme from the next academic year.

AICTE will take stringent action against those institutes if they fail to take approval from it for introducing B.Des and M.Des courses. All such institutions will have to apply for approval in online mode on the AICTE website. AICTE will take out a notification soon for the same.

The state governments and universities have also been directed to check that any of the colleges or institutes that offer or plan to offer B.Des or M.Des course must have got the approval of AICTE before they grant any kind of affiliation.
