NEW DELHI: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has issued a notice urging all technical universities, along with their affiliated colleges and institutions, to arrange and organize activities commemorating International Yoga Day, and subsequently share the photos and videos with AICTE.
Universities and institutions are advised to host yoga-related events such as lectures, workshops, and training sessions by inviting yoga experts. Institutions can also conduct a 15-day yoga training program based on the Common Yoga Protocol, utilizing literature and videos accessible for download from the Ministry of Aarush's portal.
In order to foster increased engagement, Universities and institutions may provide yoga attire, mats, and caps adorned with the IDY logo to their faculty and students, promoting the practice and adoption of yoga.
The AICTE recommended that universities, institutions may consider showcasing yoga charts and standees within their campus premises. Further information can be acquired from the Yoga portal of the Ministry of AYUSH. Additionally, universities may publish articles and other relevant content about Yoga in their official newsletters, bulletins, or magazines.
Additionally, to spark interest, they might arrange yoga competitions for both students and staff.
The AICTE notice read, "Institutions may create permanent yoga facilities for the practice on a regular basis within the Institute. Students and staff may be encouraged to participate in live online Yoga discourse with prominent yoga gurus for insightful discussion."
TG Sitharam, the Chairman of AICTE, has recently announced the launch of full-time Master's (ME, MTech) and PhD programs under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP). Those interested can fill out the AICTE ME, MTech, and PhD application form online at qip.aicte-india.org. The deadline for AICTE application submission is June 20. Candidates shortlisted for interviews, tests will receive notification via email.
