AILET 2026 exam date revised to December 14; registration starts from August 7

The National Law University Delhi has extended the exam date for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026. The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 will now be conducted on December 14, 2025, for admission to the five-year Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) (Honours) and the one-year Master of Laws (LLM) programmes.

The entrance exam will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 4 pm. This revision supersedes the university’s earlier notification issued on June 17, 2025. Initially, the test was scheduled to be held on December 7. NLU Delhi clarified that the AILET 2026 will continue to be held at the all-India level for admissions to the academic year 2026-27.
As per the revised schedule, the application process for AILET 2026 will now begin on August 7. It was originally scheduled to commence on August 1. Eligible candidates will be able to register for the AILTE 2026 on nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The last date to register for the law entrance test is November 10, 2025. A detailed notification with the revised exam date and other instructions will be issued soon.

AIET 2026 on May 3 for MA/LLM admission
The university has also confirmed that the All-India Entrance Test (AIET) 2026 will be conducted as scheduled on May 3, 2026, for admission to the Postgraduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP), the Joint Master of Arts (MA)/Master of Laws (LLM) programme in Intellectual Property Law and Management, and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme.
“The detailed admission notification for the AIET 2026 will be issued in January 2026. The online application forms for these programmes will be available on the above-mentioned website w.e.f. January 7, 2026,” the official notice said.
