Akanksha Scholarship for Women in STEM application underway; register by July 7

The four-year scholarship amounting to Rs 1,50,000 supports women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
NEW DELHI: Progress (Nasdaq: PRGS) has announced the applications for the 2023 Progress Software Akanksha Scholarship for Women in STEM in India. The Akanksha Scholarship seeks to support women pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Candidates can register for the Progress Software Akanksha Scholarship for Women in STEM in India and submit their applications online by 5 pm of July 7, 2023.

Prasanna Anireddy, VP, Engineering, Progress said “While today there are more female technology leaders in India compared to a decade ago, most women still see a barrier to choosing STEM as their career and need support and encouragement.With our annual scholarship, we want to show them that the IT world values and supports diversity in talent and there is a future for them in it. We’re optimistic– each year we see more and more driven young women, eager to continue their education in STEM and contribute to the technology industry.”
Akanksha Scholarship
The four-year Akanksha Scholarship will offer financial support up to Rs 1,50,000 annually and will cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. Women or those who identify as women, and pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, or IT can apply for this scholarship. Candidates must be a citizen of India and hold good academic excellence.
An official statement read that the Women in STEM Scholarship series is a part of Progress' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Progress for Tomorrow. Progress also offers scholarships in the United States and Bulgaria, including India. Through the scholarship, Progress focuses on increasing the global representation of women in computer science, software engineering, IT, and computer information systems.
