Allahabad University’s vacant posts will be filled soon: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended University of Allahabad’s convocation ceremony today in Prayagaraj.
NEW DELHI: The Allahabad University completed its convocation ceremony today in the historic Senate building of the university. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended the convocation as the chief guest.

In the convocation ceremony, 264 medals and 550 PhD degrees were awarded to the meritorious boys and girls of the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Pradhan said in a tweet: “Attended the convocation ceremony of the University of Allahabad today in Prayagraj, the Tapobhoomi of Maharishi Bharadwaj. Today, when Allahabad University is completing 134 glorious years of nation building and quality education, this convocation of the session 2018-19 and 2019-20 assumes even more importance.”

Pradhan urged and requested the Allahabad University to start the process of recruitment on academic and non-academic vacancies at the earliest for the welfare of the society and the students.
Addressing the convocation as the chief guest, Pradhan said that Allahabad is the tapobhoomi of Maharishi Bharadwaj. It is the sacrifice land of Chandrashekhar Azad. He has a unique connection with Prayagraj. For the first time after becoming the Union Education Minister, he is attending the convocation ceremony of a central university, he said.

While discussing NEP 2020, the minister said that along with quality education, social research is also the need of the hour. Research should not be done only for the research general, but emphasis should be given on such research which is of benefit to the society.
Dharmendra Pradhan also announced the establishment of Deendayal Upadhyay Chair in Allahabad University. He assured all possible help from the central government.
In the convocation ceremony, cabinet ministers of Uttar Pradesh government, Siddharth Nath Singh, Nand Gopal Nandi, Prayagraj MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Phulpur MP Kesari Devi Patel etc. were also present. All the members of the Academic Council and Executive Council of the University were also present during this period, an official statement said.
