Amity University awards degrees, diplomas at 18th convocation

Amity University organises its 18th convocation ceremony from November 10 to 12 and awarded honorary degrees, diploma, graduation degrees.

NEW DELHI: Amity University on Saturday conferred a honorary degree upon All India Institute of Medical Sciences, director, M Srinivas while Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Vikas Singh was awarded a doctor of law honorary degree at the university's three-day convocation ceremony. Along with this Tech Mahindra CEO, managing director, CP Gurnani and strategic defence expert, Maroof Raza were also awarded with honorary degrees at the event.

Amity University held its 18th convocation ceremony from November 10 to 12, 2022. Over 8,900 students have received their graduation degrees and diplomas during the first two days of the ceremony. Day-one saw 4,438 degrees and diplomas handed to to students while day-two saw a total of 4,490 students receive their graduation degree and diplomas.

Students from domains including finance, travel, tourism, architecture planning and design, engineering and technology allied disciplines including agriculture, bio sciences, among various others graduated from Amity University campuses at Noida, Lucknow, Dubai and Tashkent.

The university also handed out the "all-rounder achievement" trophies along with silver, bronze and gold medals and other awards to meritorious students.

"His relentless journey is an inspiration for all those who seek social equity, justice and empowerment for the masses,” it said. Singh was conferred the honorary degree at the university convocation. The university awards honorary doctorate degree to professionals in various fields.

"The honorary degree was awarded for his (Singh) exceptional vision, deep commitment to providing all-round justice, highest professionalism, inspirational leadership and continuous dedicated efforts towards nation building through upholding the sanctity of the law of the land," the university said.

Highlighting the pioneering accomplishments of Amity University in the previous academic year, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, vice-chancellor, Balvinder Shukla, said: “Amity is a leading scientific research and innovation driven University where holistic development of students is of utmost importance.
