AMU Recruitment Fair: More than 80 students placed, over 150 await job offers

NEW DELHI: Over 80 students from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) received job offers while more than 150 await placement in the recruitment fair, SAIRAAB, conducted on November 13. A series of pre-placement talks, group discussions and interview rounds were held in the recruitment fair organised under the collaboration of the Training and Placement Office-General and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at the Kennedy Hall Auditorium.

The companies which participated in the recruitment fair of AMU included Stepping Cloud, Marque Impex, TeleCRM, Suo Jobs, Believe Pte. Ltd, UHM Vacations, Mindtel Global Pvt Ltd, Bansal Classes, Antal, Feedpro and others. The event was sponsored by Marque Impex and co-sponsored by Resolv Education and Training Programs (RETP), USA.

Speaking at the inaugural function, AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor said, “AMU fosters awareness around multicultural education and our students come from all Indian states and different countries. When employed by MNCs, our students from different cultural backgrounds bring their own skills and abilities to the table for more informed and inclusive decisions. I am sure the culturally diverse strength of AMU students will appeal to employers”. He extended gratitude to the companies which participated at the recruitment fair and presented mementoes to their representatives.

Speaking on the impact of recruitment fairs, Professor Asadullah U Khan, convener, SAIRAAB said that these programmes provide students with a positive start in their career search as well as valuable skills for future career searches.

Saad Hameed, general training and placement officer pointed out that the recruitment fair provided the students with valuable face time with people who can directly impact the success of their job applications.

“The MNC representatives including senior human resource managers and other experienced staff also gave the students an overview of what it is like to work for a company or a sector that seems interesting to them”, he said.
