AP NEET PG 2023 phase 1 admissions cancelled due to fake NMC permission letters

NEW DELHI : YSR University of Health Sciences has cancelled the Andhra Pradesh postgraduate medical admissions conducted under the first phase of state National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2023. The decision has been taken due to a fake letter of permission issued on the behalf of president of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) to Santhiram Medical College.

First, the university kept in abeyance the NEET PG phase 1 admissions into competent authority quota for in-service and non-service candidates as well as management quota in PG medical seats. In a recent notice, YSRUHS announced the cancellation of admissions.
“In the reference cited NMC, New Delhi has released a Public Notice duly informing that Fake/Forged Letter of permission was issued on behalf of Member/President, MARB, NMC, New Delhi,” YSRUHS said initially.

NMC clarified that MARB has not issued letters for renewal and permission to increase MS seats for Santhiram Medical College, Kurnool. It warned against forged letters of permission issued for increase of seats in MS Ophthalmology from five to 10, MD General Medicine from seven to 24 and MS ENT from one to four.
“In continuation to this Office Notification vide reference 2nd cited, it is hereby notified that the Phase-I admissions into Competent Authority Quota (In-service & Non-service) and Management Quota for PG(Medical) courses for the academic year 2023-24 are herewith stands cancelled,” the university stated in the recent notice.
YSRUHS informed that the notification for NEET PG counselling 2023 phase 1 for exercising web options and revised seat matrix will be released shortly.
“All the Candidates are advised to check the University Website for further Updates/Notifications/Notices,” it further said.
