NEW DELHI: The Principal Secretary of School of Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh has launched online portal for admissions to 25 percent seats in Class 1 of private schools for the academic year 2023-24. The government has recently mandated the allotment of seats under Right to Education Act (RTE) in all private unaided schools, including IB, ICSE, CBSE and State board syllabus schools in the state.
According to the official release, the application window for admissions in private schools under RTE 12(1)(c) will be open between March 22 and April 10, 2023. The applications can also be submitted online at village and ward secretariats for free. Parents or guardians can fill out the application form for their children through the official website cse.ap.gov.in. "This initiative is aimed at promoting socially inclusive access to education for all children in the state, irrespective of their socioeconomic backgrounds. Implementation of this education policy has been challenging, but the AP government hopes to address key issues by leveraging technology to ease the administrative burden. The RTE Section 12(1)(c) admissions were initiated in AP from the academic year 2022-23 onwards and are in their second year of implementation," reads an official statement.
