AP Inter, SSC Exams 2021: Govt to inform SC by tomorrow on final exam

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has asked the Andhra Pradesh Government to inform the final decision on the AP SSC and AP inter exams in two days. The AP government has earlier stated that the government is “keen" on holding the board exams.

“You can’t keep things hanging like this. You want to take a decision, let us have the reasons. If something happens we will take the State responsible for that,” said the apex court.

Advocate Mamata Sharma, who is advocating the case in SC for cancellation of Board exams tweeted, “Last year many students and teachers tested covid positive in Andhra Pradesh. Cancellation of Board exams is really the need of the hour. Decision needs to be taken at the earliest.”.

Meanwhile, students took to Twitter to request the government to cancel AP SSC and Inter exams 2021. A student said, “Please sir cancel Andhra Pradesh state board exams.

The state education minister of AP had earlier said that the government will tell the SC about “how important it is to hold the exams." The AP government has postponed the exams and said the exams will be conducted in August following all the safety measures.

CBSE has announced the cancellation of Class 12 board exams 2021 earlier this month. Following this, many other states including UP, Maharashtra, MP, among others have cancelled the board examination.
