AP NMMS 2025 registration extended till October 3; exam on December 8

NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Government Examinations has extended the Andhra Pradesh National Means cum Merit Scholarship (AP NMMS) 2025 registration deadline till October 3. Interested and eligible students can fill up the AP NMMS 2025 form by visiting the official website, bse.ap.gov.in. The AP NMMS 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on December 8, 2024.

Each state or union territory conducts its own examination to choose candidates for the NMMS. Eligible students are required to pass both the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) paper of the NMMS exam, attaining a combined score of at least 40%. However, for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, the passing marks is 32%.
The NMMS, part of the Central Sector Scheme, commenced in 2008 with approval from CCEA. Its main objective is to grant scholarships to talented students hailing from economically underprivileged backgrounds, aiming to prevent their discontinuation of education at the eighth grade and inspire them to continue their academic journey into secondary education.

AP NMMS 2025: Registration fee
Students are required to pay an exam fee to complete the AP NMMS 2025 registration. The AP NMMS 2025 registration fee payment deadline is October 14. Students belonging to the General and Backward Classes are required to pay Rs 100 as AP NMMS 2025 exam fee. However, the fee for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Person with Disabilities (PwD) are required to pay Rs 50.
AP NMMS 2025: Scholarship amount
Each year, one lakh new scholarships are granted to selected ninth-grade students, with the opportunity for renewal in classes 10 to 12, enabling them to study in state government, government-aided, and local body schools. The NMMS scholarship amount was increased to Rs 12,000 per annum from April 1, 2017 previously it was Rs. 6,000 per year.
