Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) will hold the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025 tomorrow, June 8 in two shifts. The morning shift will be conducted from 10 am to 12 pm, whereas the afternoon shift will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The commission will conduct the APSC CCE 2025 at 35 district headquarters across Assam to fill a total of 289 vacancies. The APSC CCE 2025 will be conducted for General Studies paper 1 and 2 in the morning and afternoon shifts respectively.

The competitive exam question paper will be of 100 questions, carrying 200 marks. Candidates will be given one mark for each right answer, whereas 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong response.

As per the selection criteria, candidates will have to follow a two-stage process, prelims and mains. Candidates will have to give a written test and personality test or interview in the mains exam.

  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues etc,
  • Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environment ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
  • General Science.

Syllabus for paper 2

  • Comprehension.
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
  • Decision making and problem solving.
  • General mental ability.
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level),
  • Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.) (Class X level)
