Assam starts registration for pre, post-matric scholarships for ST students
Candidates should fill out the scholarship application form by August 31 through the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in.

NEW DELHI: The directorate of tribal affairs, Assam, is inviting fresh, renewal applications for the pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for the academic year 2024-25. As per the official notice, the application window is open only for scheduled tribe students from Assam.
Eligible candidates can fill out the scholarship application form through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in. Applications will be accepted only from students studying in government, government-aided, or government-recognised institutions including schools, higher secondary schools, colleges, and universities.

The pre-matric scholarship is available for ST students in Class 9,10, with an annual family income limit of Rs 2.50 lakh. The deadline for application submission is August 31, 2024. The post-matric scholarship is available for ST students with an annual family income limit of Rs 2.50 lakh. The deadline for application submission is October 31, 2024.
To register for the scholarship, students must use the "NSP OTR" app available on the google play store. They must complete face-authentication to obtain a one-time registration (OTR) number, which is mandatory for applications from the 2024-25 academic year onwards.

Documents required
Candidates should keep the following documents along with them during form filling process.

Students should keep Aadhaar and a mobile number registered with Aadhaar for generating the OTR.

Students should upload an income certificate from their parents or guardians, issued by the concerned circle, revenue officer.

A caste certificate issued by the district commissioner of the applicant's district must be uploaded. In case of discrepancies in the name or surname on the certificate, a notarised affidavit must be provided to justify the differences.

A valid bank account seeded with Aadhaar is required as scholarships will be credited only to Aadhaar-seeded accounts.
